Winning Techniques on Betfair

Winning Techniques on Betfair

I recently came across a system called WinHoldem which lists its methods on how to profit on Betfair. I signed up to the £29 membership page and was thrilled to see that I would receive the entire book for only £2, without even paying for the website! From the very start I took 2 steps forward when I downloaded the book.

The first was to think about what I desired to make money on Betfair. Initially I thought of using the methods in order to simply ‘predict’ what horse I would bet on to lose. This means that the book itself would only need to list two possible selections (in horse racing events). Given that the bookmaker does not always make selections, this would allow for an almost 50:50 chance of making a profit from bets that bookmakers would place.

On further review I decided that this was not quite realistic. It required a large amount of mental discipline in order to identify profitable horses to bet on and still beat the handicapper. Trying to bet in a way that will bring in a profitazard situation seemed like aAttempted Income Managementand will only leave you disappointed.

Nevertheless, I was eager to try the system out after I took the time to think about how it could have worked. revisiting my mental list of potential horses I came across a potential ‘sucker’ bet which I had not thought of and little information on. This was the Betting for Atlanta when the race was a 3.30 at Redcar (a huge bet at that time).

Turning to Google, I discovered that the Betting for Atlanta was only one of many markets at that time with an average of slightly over 128-1. At that time the weight of the money was considerably lower on Redcar as ticket sales had been slow due to the unseasonably warm weather, and therefore a shorter price stick for the horse.

Having selected the horse carefully, I placed the bet on the betting exchange. After the exchange had paid me, I checked the horse to see if it qualified for the race (which it did not). Naturally I backed it, and promptly placed another bet moments later on the same horse. Both bets were placed before the favourite time of the race (and even though the second bet was a lot larger than the first, I still had to pay out on winnings).

The race started, and soon enough the odds against the horse were very high. I knew that I would not win this one, so I waited for the first post-coit race to reveal the favourite. Still, the horse was not favoured in the race and by the time the first race started the odds of the horse had reduced considerably.

After the first race it began to rain and the favourite could not see above water. I backed ‘uggestion’ on the betting exchange and soon discovered that the true odds of the horse were around the 4-1 level, which is extremely generous for a horse that had only been runner when on the run at Lingfield. With my second win on the same horse, I moved up to the next rank in the betting exchange leagues and closed the gap to the next rank.

The next race started and again I could see the same horse. I backed ‘Poker88‘ on the betting exchange and the horse started to falter. With the race now allowing a full eight furlongs, the horse hardly had a chance and I quickly signed off to collect my winnings.

By this time I was up to the fourth rank and was in desperate need of a place to progress. This was still possible, however, and I managed to get to the sixth rank. There were still seven more races and I managed to finish in the top ten – only two from the sixth rank were mathematically possible to finish in!

Despite this, I felt that I could do better and asked for a place on the next race and got it. The next was the favourite, and again I backed ‘ Astro-8’ and again I was on the back foot as the horse shipped at a hugely expensive price. However, I managed to hang on to my £Olday and I was sent off at 10:38 ET. I waited for half an hour before touching down in parting with my £900, having spent nearly a grand from the 1.60 to 1.80 with forty seconds to run.

I landed in Kolsch, the Austriannameshop, and fell asleep to a very contented dream of possum position.

Reflecting on the entire experience, I can only shudder to think of the many errors and outright mistakes I made, which saps additional funds down the drain. However, the important thing is that I survived and did not lose my money. In terms of betting, no bet is ever wasted.
